| Cryosurgery is a method of application of very cold gases to the skin, such as liquid carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, nitrogen etc. The main indications for the procedure are various types of skin tumours. It can also be used in the treatment of several skin diseases such as viral warts, molluscum contagiousm, skin tumours, removal of scars etc.
The procedure is easy , safe and causes only mild pain and hence can be done without any anaesthesia. 24-48 hours later , there usually a small blister at the site of procedure which usually heals in 3-4 days.
