| Iontopheresis is a method of introducing drugs in to skin using a bipolar electric current. In our clinic, iontophoresis is used to treat excessive sweating of hands and feet,axilla an important and frustrating problem for which there is no satisfactory medical therapy.
In this, the patient keeps the hands and feet in a tray of water through which low grade electricity is passed for a duration of 4-5 minutes. The treatment needs to be repeated on alternative days for a period of 2-3 weeks, after which a lasting benefit from this frustrating problem will be obtained.
