How do I book an appointment for surgery?

We take an advance of Rs 5000 to book a date for surgery

Prior to surgery:

• You will have to fill up a questionnaire about your past medical history and sign a consent form
• You will have to do some simple and routine blood tests-which can be completed in a day
• On the day of surgery , pl. arrive on time. Have a light meal before coming
• Wear loose garments
• You may come alone. However, ask some one to pick you up at the end of surgery-do not go back by yourself

What are the blood tests to be done?

These are simple: They include Hb%, Total leucocyte count( TLC) , differential count( DLC), platelet counts,Bleeding time and clotting time, Blood sugar, Hepatitis B antigen( HBSAg), HIV ELISA and ECG.

After surgery:

• You will need to take antibiotics and mild analgesics after surgery. There will be some drainage of fluid for 24-48 hours-Compression bandage will have to be worn for 3 days
• You will have to come for dressing for two days. After this, you will have to wear a pressure garment for 3 weeks
• Remember: Full results are seen after 4-6 weeks
• You may move and do routine house work the next day. You may attend to office and may travel after 2 days

Physical exercise is permitted after 4-8 days.
